Sedan BOSE subwoofer plug (at amp)

On the sedan, the BOSE subwoofer has wires leading directly from it into a harness/plug. On the speaker side of the plug, there is a green and red wire. The opposite side of the plug, when removed, reveals a black and a white wire.

Can somebody please confirm which is positive and negative?

To check polarity of a speaker connect a 1.5 volt battery (AA, C, D size) to the speaker leads. When the speaker moves outward, whatever wire is connected to the + of the battery is the + lead. Then pin match it to the harness if you want to know what wires are + and - on the other side of the plug.

That's an old trick. Glad I could help.

Obviously, if the speaker cone sucks in toward the basket, the wire that is attached to the + terminal of the battery is the - wire.

Or you could buy a voltimeter for like 20 bux and use it for a wide range of things. That's one of the best investments I've ever put my money into.

Hmm, will a voltmeter determine polarity? How do you do that? It would be easier than messing with batteries.

Way easier, you'll see a positive voltage if you have have red(+) probe connected to the positive lead. Otherwise you'll see a negative voltage if it's backwards.
