Exclamation Just installed my procharger and have questions

Ok i just installed my ati procharger and took it for a spin just to fill it with gas. The car starts and runs fine sounds awesome But i am afraid to get on it and see what it has. Right now i am running on ati s stock settings for the fmu should i have the car fine tuned before i can really drive the car cause i am hearing horror stories. If not what is a safe level for all the slides 1 -5? and also the boost dial? And 1 more question is how do i know my fmu computer is working is there a light that comes on or the car wont run if it isn,t on? And i am having the car tuned asap!

There is no way to know whether your FMU is tuned properly for your particular car without some sort A/F ratio meter.

As far as knowing whether the FMU is working, the lights will only go on when it senses boost. If you turn on the car and blow into the boost sense line that goes into the FMU the lights should light up. You should calibrate your FMU with an accurate Pressure gauge. If you inject 5.6PSI into the FMU, you should adjust your scale knob to where the fifth light comes on precisely at 5.6 PSI. At 5.5 PSI, the 4th light should be on. As far as the proper settings for your slider, that is a matter for your tuner.

Unfortunately, there is no "safe" setting we can give you because each FMU is different depending on altitude, SC efficiencies, installation variations and FMU manufacturing tolerances.

I only have one recommendation for you regarding tuning. Ensure your tuner tunes it very conservatively. I'd suggest, no higher than 12:1 ratio until you have some sort of timing control.

Ok got the car dynoed and tuned today. The guy really didnt knoww much about the aeromotive computer. But any way we worked together The 1st run was super rich!
The last run was also very rich and i got 353 rwhp and 303 lbs torque very impressive for this car On the Air fuel graph it runs fine until about 3300 rpms and then it goes very very rich up until 5700 then it leans out a tad. This is my conclusion better rich and be on the safe side right. I drove the car home and holy shi@# the car feels like its going to take off and fly.

Those numbers are very similar to mine. I don't recall my A/F numbers but since I have had no problems (detonation) I assume AA tuned mine somewhat rich as well.

the car is awesome @ i think rich is key with these systems to prevent detonation. Thanx bonz and jesse. I also think people are going toward 380-400rwhp and leaning the car out a little to much this is why i think there are so many problems out there
