    Electrical Connection o2

    Help!

Trying to figure out the electrical connector release for the top bank 2 o2 sensor.

Gray shroud over connector. Any help on disconnecting connector. I'm baffled.

    Madness

It's a Green Clip behind the head.

You can reach it over the head (if you are tall enough or climb on top of the engine bay and reach back

Bank 2 is the Drivers Side.

If you decide to go through the bottom, it would be on top of the header by the camshaft sensor.

    Remember It's a 4 pin Green Plug.

Here is an image when I was recently working on my car.

On the highlighted section you will notice a bracket, that bracket is on the far back right (by the firewall) it's what the Sensor goes clipped on. Notice the Green Connector, i placed the sensor there when I removed it out of the headers.

I too need this info because when I put my new motor in for some reason my pre cat 02 sensors are throwing a CEL... Will a universal 02 sensor work for our cars? I know I would have to splice into the old connector/wire which would be perfectly fine. By the way I have a 2004 G35 coupe.

    What year is your car?

Gray.... not sure going to pop my hood and see what you are talking about

I have a 2003 Sedan so perhaps the wiring changed?

If you can feel the other side you may have a tab which you push instead of closing your fingers, you push a tab down or into the other connector you'll hear a CLICK then you can pull the clip out.

The universal sensor you would need is this one:

Bosch Premium Oxygen Sensors with OE SmartLink
    part # 15730

    Checked the car,

I do not have any gray plugs going to the pre-cat oxygen sensor. My sensors clip is green.

Dang man you sure do stay up late lol. But, thanks for the info. I should be able to splice the wires and just connect them to my old plugs right?

2004 connect has changed. It seems that it releases and the gray shroud moves up. Can't find the release.

Ok, if you notice in the circled section, the release is there

It is either a pin that is pushed in, or you have to get screwdriver and SOFTLY wedge it into the slot. If you cannot see on the bottom of that I would be gentle and try that.

Any specific reason why your are changing the O2 sensor?

    ODD,

Did you check to see if any of the cables are cut? Or did you remove this sensor at any point?
