I was just informed by one of my sources at Gwinnett Place Nissan that they will be placing the three Skylines that they are planning to get on Ebay, and will not be accepting deposits on any of the first allocation of there Skylines! I guess thats smart from a business standpoint. But not good for the local potential Skyline buyer. So I guess they will start a bidding war on Ebay!

That's exactly the way I felt when the Z first came out. I used to go up the the Nissan Dealership on a daily basis and drool. They had a red track model they were selling for over $40k.
Then mama said I needed a back seat, thus came the G.

Yeah...that's what they told me also.
:BS:
I guess I'll just wait until Mr. "I gotta have one of the 1st ones" realizes he has 3 kids, is getting laid off from his job, and needs to sell his toy.

The GT-R is not going to be a car that anyone will have a chance to review! Especially since it won't be produced in mass numbers in the begining. So trust me if I could, I would be first in line to review one. Besides, the few Nissan dealers that will get one or so will have them sold either on Ebay or before it even hits the dealer.
I still can't believe it's going to be a Nissan...

The Skyline GT-R has always been a Nissan. I can understand not wanting to change its Name heritage! On the other hand, will Nissan dealers be able to handle 60-100k car buying customer? Thats yet to be seen!

I have yet to hear of an official release date!
Let the lunacy begin, it would probably be two years before I'd attempt to get one unless it was used from a private owner.. the dealerships are going to have a field day and half of them don't even know what the GT-R is all about.

+1. a couple years to sort out the minor bugs and let the aftermarket develop for them is what i would do.

Sounds like Gwinnett Place Nissan especially after the attempt at buying experience that we had. I am sure that Nissan cannot handle the service expectations of a customer that pays over $40k for a car. I wasn't pleased with our Z service experience at any of the 4 or 5 places we went.
