Not....

but a replica, looks damn good and almost like the original. Definitely worth it I think.

Polished Stainless Steel. If the mufflers they used are good ones, then it should be a heck of a deal:

Someone needs to jump on it. $575 shipped on G35Driver.com (from a vendor)

One of the guys in St. Petersburg just purchased one of these and has it installed already. (I think this is the one he got... There can't be too many clone HKS systems.)

He's coming to a car show tomorrow, so I'll get some pix and see how it sounds... He's very happy with it so far...

Any update on this? I would still feel more comfortable getting the genuine HKS over a replica.

not at all...sounds awesome outside the car...a lil loud inside but no drone...kinda wish i didnt get the hfc...but then id miss hte small power increase...i am starting 2 miss the lil bit a of luxury...almost thinkin of goin back 2 stock exhuast with cats and headers and y pipe...i wonder what that would sound like....that means i can go lower in the back also so i wont scrape goin up the driveway...

after having aftermarket exhaust...oem exhaust sounds quiet and less manly.......which is a weird thing for me since I was gonna put the oem exhaust back a minute after putting injen exhaust...... but after having it on my car for 2 days, i just couldnt go back to stock....

NJlakeshoreG
03-24-2007, 06:21 PM

just got mine installed today. did it in my buddies garage and was a little tough to remove the hangers of the stock muffler. As it stands right now...I hate the sound! It drones a lot! I really hope that I have an exhaust leak somewhere because it is too loud and drones at every RPM! Im going to an exhaust shop tomorow and get it checked out...wish me luck!

ive been having doubts about my order. ive got a month to decide but i think im going to cancel. guess im just boring but if its not fi, it just doesnt feel worth it to me anymore.

Greatwars

I doubt any exhaust would be worth it for you anymore especially since you have injen before lol....... most aftermarket exhaust just feel too quiet after u have injen .......especially after u get used to with injen's drone.....:char15:

well i hated the drone, thats why i sold it. so him complaining about drone scares me.

I got it checked out by an exhaust shop...well actually a goodyear shop...and they say there is no exhaust leaks. I also got compliments with the build quality of the exhaust. BUT the droning is rediculous! My panels inside are vibrating at some RPMs depending on load. Anyone else experiencing this??? Im debating whether i should just put the stock back on or get new gaskets...metal ones...and replace them. then putting exhaust wrap. I dont know what to do but right now I hate the sound of it.

On a performance note...this thing is SICKNESS!! I got that Oh My GOD feeling again! Top end is amazing...doesnt seem to die out as much.

Anyafter market exhaust would be louder and drone, just the matter of level. I guess you're not used to this setup yet. It should be about the same as the real HKS. Try to sit inside a straight throughs like Injen, APS, Stillen, it'll be much worse.

GEEthreeFIVE

Yeah I expected it to be louder but not this much louder. It seems like all the sound is inside the cabin....at the back seats. It seems like the exhaust is really loud but after hearing my brother drive by it is not loud at all outside...just inside. From what others have said...it shouldnt sound like this. I have lost the VQ sound inside the cabin. I cannot hear my intake at all anymore. It sounds good outside...more poppy and unrefined than the sound clips ive heard.

I guess it's right...... all tru dual would drone.....

I have the HKS exhaust and it doesn't drone. The clone exhaust is louder than the HKS, but not by a whole whopping amount. It sounds good. I think you'll just have to get used to it.

Im gonna go to another exhaust shop tomorow and have them pretty much re-do the install. Im having them put in metal gaskets and re-aligning the piping. Hopefully this will fix the problem. The sound is nothing like the videos Ive seen and the sound inside the cabin feels like a pressure sound...very monotonous...no more vq sound.

Make sure none of the pipes or mufflers are actually touching the floor. That would set up some resonance and make things louder...
