There are several good DD makes - Pioneer, Eclipse, JVC, Kenwood, Alpine. It depends on what features ou like that fit your budget. You can also add navigation if you get a DD HU.

If you are asking if you need a trim piece and AC controller to add a double DIN headunit, the answer is yes.

How did u set this up? and what is the cd unit in the storage compartment for?

the unit in the storage compartment isn't a cd unit...its just a controller face for an electronic EQ that's an optional piece for the Alpine HU.

I would suggest taking out the fuse to your Head Unit for at least 10 minutes to reset the HU before buying a new one. If the error message persist....don't take it so hard...though you may have to spend a lil upfront....an aftermarket HU would still be a much better foundation for a really solid and better sounding system. Just be aware that you may lose some of the volume due to the Bose speakers being 2 ohms...but if you have the standard system...then the volume issue will not be a problem. It may also be a good time to upgrade to new speakers as well.

I Have To Admit... I Got Mine At Grubbs.. The Whole Package.. Because I Have An 07 With The Bose Package.. It Was Worth Spending The Extra Money.. It Looks Clean.. Full Package.. Brushed Aluminium Flange.. Double Din Bracket Ac Module.. Only Thing That Sucks.. Is The O7 Bose Radio Controls The Dual Climate Control So When U Pull It U Lose It And Need The Ac Module From Grubs Also But It Looks Great When Its Complete.. Still Remains A Factory Look! I Love It ;o) Any Questions Ask Me No Problem! =)

Silvernole has posted pics of what needs to be soldered on the 05-07 coupe AC controller boards.
mOSeRiUz, how are you connecting your new HU to the Bose system? The Bose amp needs a low level signal, not speaker level.

front speakers. I was working on the rear speakers but because I was doing the installation at my friends house, I did not have all my tools. I needed a Dremel to trim the rear side panels to accomodate the new speakers but I only had an Xacto knife. Well the blade slipped and I cut my finger which I had to go to emergeny to get it stitched up...lol. Oh well I guess Im gonna have to wait a couple of weeks before I can put in the rear speakers. I still have to do the trunk which includes fiberglassing the subs and the amps. Still got a long ways to go. I did manage to get my dual climate control button transferred over to my new AC Controller and it works perfectly like stock. It was quite easy to do...just need a lil patience and a steady hand.

new to G35Frenzy... been creepin' around for a couple days though lol...
I just purchased the double din conversion from Grubbs, had it delivered to Canada. Glad I did it, double din HU mounts flush and looks clean... worth the money IMO...

Does anyone know if you have to buy anything special as far as double din if you have the factory NAV?
Or will the basic Double din finisher and AC controler work fine?
Gilley

The DD finisher and AC will work fine, but you will lose the navi voice unless you get something like an Alpine HU with an aux. audio module.

I am willing to pay up to $400 for kit and a/c controller for an 05 G35 coupe. As many know these are on backorder for months and I need one now. Thanks to anyone in advance if you have one for sale or know where I can get one. Will also pay finders fee if you can help m elocate one. Appreciate it again
