is it possible to adjust the clutch, like the point where it catches off the floor? i just got my 2004 coupe and it catches really high but the one i test drove did the same thing is this normal?

it is possible, I found a diy on the g35driver forum and tried it myself, some people swear by it, I didn't notice an extreme difference at first but my shifts lately have been really smooth

Mine shifts pretty high as well. When I got my new transmission, we asked them to adjust the clutch pedal down. They moved it some, but it still isn't as low to the floor as our Z.

isn't it better if it's higher up? i mean, you would figure you would have less travel to shift (may help on 1/4 mile times, too!).

I didn't like the shifting point being the top of the pedal. Made my shifts too jerky. As well, wasn't sure how I would know that the clutch was giving out if there was no more give room.

Having the catch point lower in the pedal travel would HELP your 1/4 mile times more than hurt them. When you clutch for a drag race, you're just slamming your foot down on the clutch really fast and the sooner you can get your clutch to grab the flywheel and get back on the gas (assuming you even let off the gas pedal), the faster you're going to be in the 1/4. However, just adjusting the clutch engagment point isn't going to mean the difference between being in the 13's or the 14's. It MIGHT make a .0002 second difference. It would be more for clutch feel during everyday driving.

I too noticed the high engagement point on the test car and mine...
It reminded me of my old Protege5. but Im beginning to get
use to it. Kind of weird to have such sporty short shifter but the
clutch is so non-agressive. :clue:
