My car came with legal (35% tint) and it has to go. I am used to having 20% tint on my windows, but LeMans350z is pushing for 10%. What tint percentage would you do on a red car?

how about 15%
That's what I have, and I love it.

canton_g35,
I know I saw your car last week, but I wasn't looking at the tint. Do you have a picture of it? Sounds like a nice compromise for us...

I did the tint from the factory so I'm not sure what percentage I got. Well, actually it's not from the factory but it was done at the dealership and Infiniti covers the lifetime warranty.

i would def go with 10. i personally have 5 and love it. my friend had 15 on his and thought it wasnt dark enough, so he got another layer put on. he now has double 15 and its just a little lighter than my 5. it looks very nice.

The legal limit is 35% in most states. Dealerships will probably only go as low as 35%. I put 15% on my G. Since it is silver, the windows do not look as dark as they would on a darker car. I had 18% on my graphite colored lexus and it was dark. I would go to a tint place and have them put samples on your windows so you can decide.

Didn't Georgia get rid of the tint restrictions?

Didn't Georgia get rid of the tint restrictions?yes, the GA supreme court overturned the law, but on a technicality. The legislature will more than likely fix the wording of the law next session. :monty:

kind of, some one challenged the law saying it was unconstitutional or something along those lines. Because it didn't apply to out-of-state vehicals.
It was pretty stupid if you ask me, cause when they pass the new law, it's going to cover all vehicals in GA and they might say no tint is allowed at all.
i just got my wondows tinted 20%.. and i live in san diego. im kind of scared of getting pulled over. it looks really good though. i noticed that when i was driving at night the back window had a lot of glare. inbetween the lines for the defroster, stripes of glare are all over the place. does anyone else get this, or was it the tint job? anything i can do?

my tint does that too. i think it is the actual film that does this. i read somewhere that there is a tint called hyper optik or something like that, that is suppose to have 0 glare.

I would go with 20% tint, I personally have 20% tint but it shoots a 27%. My tint guy told me that the law in Georgia is going up to 32%. I stayed safe and chose 20%. I wanted 5% all the way around but he said that it looks better even (same all the way around). In Georgia, everything but the driver window and the windshield can be any percentage. Tinting the windshield in Georgia is a $1000 fine. The driver window can be any percentage but in the near future it will increase to 32%. The Georgia heat is really hot :flame: , the tinit keeps it all out, so go with the most that you can legally.

Canton G35, in the pic of your car with tints, I noticed you have the stock corner markers. You dont like the clear corners? I know yours is hooked up to be your directionals, but wouldnt it look soo good clear?

I guess I need to update my sig, I've got clear corners.
I think it's the film as well. The tint you are thinking about is called Huper Optik. Here's a link to their website. A lot of people glorify this film so I'm assuming that it's all good. I personally didn't have the time to invest in it since the dealership offered to tint the G for free (lifetime) or go with the Huper Optik for only a yr. through them. I think the tint job would run somewhere around $300+.
