So i have only turboed my old honda and ran a nitrous set up on that so bear with me....i want to charge my Z .....first question is what seems to be better stillen kit or the pro charger ...i still need it to pass smog (big push for the pro charger was that i was told i dont have to mod the hood) anyways i was wondering if i can do the intake headers and pleneum mods or will i lose that when i charge it.....since on my honda i did it backwards i lost the intake and headers when i went ot turbo so it was a bit of a waste....also planned on doing the pully kit so any info would be great thanks guys...

Just so you know if i can do it plan is to go: intake, headers, and exhaust then pullies

thanks in advance guys

I have the Procharger so obviously I am biased but you'll get more power from the Procharger than you can with the Stillen. As you said, no changing of the hood with the Procharger.

You can retain your stock strut bar with the Procharger and you have to get rid of it with the Stillen.

I believe that Stillen has it's own plenum so if you have another one (I have the Kinetix SSV) you have to get rid of it.

I also have headers and Cats and duel exhaust.

One plus for the Stillen however is that I think they warranty the engine (at least I think they used to) and Procharger does not.

2003z had the stillen on his and we had the vortech. Stillen (roots) version didn't make as much whp as a centrifugal (I can't spell that word) version.

I think you would like either one but the Procharger would give you more headroom later on if you wanted more boost. I've also heard that headers and the Stillen don't mix well. I think both the Stillen and Procharger come with their own intake system and the Stillen has its own plenum.
My advice would be to get a good exhaust system and drop in K&N for now until you've done all your homework and decide exactly what you want. Forget the pulleys and maybe consider getting a Utec, you will need a good ems when going FI.
I wasted over $800 on headers with install then went with a turbo later on, I now wished I would have spent that money elsewhere.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Not only will you need the UTEC (or some other good engine management kit) but you should also upgrade your fuel system if you go with the Procharger. Don't know about the Stillen.

Hey Bonz! Been a while since I've dropped in...

Still have the Brick and she's a killer. She's got a complete race-built engine, easily good to 25psi (forged internals and all the etcs.), so I've now got the big pulley set that actually hits about 16-17psi at 7,100.

I'm using GReddy e-Manage over the top of a custom TechnoSquare ECM flash, Walbro fuel pump with the AAM fuel rail kit, and RC 550 injectors. I'm pretty happy with the setup and she's pretty wicked.

I also picked up an '07 ZR -- fresh modification canvas; but the GT-R is getting mighty tempting.

If y'all lived in my neighborhood and if I'm out and about with old Black Cherry, this is what you might hear... http://tere.net/t-z/tere350zsc-1.mpg :flash: :flash: :flash:

(If y'all are curious, the BOV is a Tial; which, by the way is better than a horn to get folks out of my way...)

I have a Procharged Z and would like to change the BOV. I love the way urs sounds!!!! Is Tial the loudest BOV on the market? Or do you know of a louder BOV??? Please let me know, your help is appreciated. Thanks!!!

I've heard from others that the HKS SSQV is pretty loud, never heard one in person though.

Vortech is gonna be your best route. they are much better than stillen or procharger. only thing is, new vortechs have been having issues lately, they like to eat themselves. but if i were you i would get the vortech. i do love the polished stillen kit though. it looks so bad a.ss. if your looking for good gains i'd stay away from stillen. they put out very low numbers.

i would most deffinently go pro charger over stillen...and if you do get a intake manifold get the new cosworth manifold coming out,put down 17hp at yhe wheels and has sweet carbonfiber end caps...i have a kinetix ssv and its nice but really only benificial if your fi
