This is not a clear bra thread. I am looking for the old nasty black bra that you see on cars just so I can use a it and throw it away.
I know some people had mentioned putting a bra on the front of their car when they drove it long distances home.
I potentially have a 2000 mile drive home on Thursday and was wondering what bra you used for the 2003 350z. Where did you get it? Is Nissan already selling one?
Thanks for any info.:)
Courtesy Parts has had them for a while. Here is the link (http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=350Z-NSMSK). I don't know if you can get it in time, but I would definitely get it for the dreaded 2k mile drive home.

Cost me $130 bucks though. Appartently it was orderd back in October and never picked up. They were asking more for it, but gave me 10% off for my story.
At least I got one for the trip. Looks like the plane trip it going to cost a fortune since we are just now trying to book a flight.
Thanks for your help!

Sorry to hear that!
I had 4 paint chips on my hood in the 2 and a half weeks I had my car. I would recommend a clear bar at least for the front bumper.

dvlad: Were the chips all in an area that would have been protected by the Clearbra or are they higher up? I am seriously considering getting one but I wanted to make sure it would do what I need it to do. If you still get chips higher up on the hood then I don't know if it would be worth it.

I try to stay away from driving behind semi's and SUV's alike for obvious reasons. Sorry to hear...
By the way, I see you are local. I'm in Arlington Hts. :)

about 1-2 inches below the 'Z' emblem. I yet to have any on the hood itself. The more i think about it, a clear bar just on the lower airdam, and nose area would be perfect.

Hey Guys,
You can basically put the 3m ClearBra where you want. Just on the front bumper, around the front quarter panels,up the hood as ways or half way up the hood.
I had mine done on the whole front bumper, headlights, mirrors and on the rear quarter panels next to the door handles.( so people would not scratch the paint opening the doors)

I have noticed several 'dings' on the front bumper and after getting a touch-up paint pen for the Daytona Blue.. I let them dry for several days.. washed the car and put it on.. took me about an hour.. and used a heat lamp to soften the vinyl..toward the end. AND I got my teenage son to help me with the last clip..
on the darker cars ..I like it.. on the red and blue.. looks good..
What do you all think? NOT as expensive as the $700 to $1000 clear jobs..

It took both me and Jeremy to install the black bra on our car. It would have been put on faster and with less snapping at each other if we had read the directions.

I like the Black Nose Guard except for one thing. It does not cover as much as the clear bra. I protected my front bumper on the trip but took several hits to my hood. I will see how the chips turn out once I touch them up.
I think for around town the Black Nose Guard is good, but for any kind of long trip the coverage area of the clear bra is clearly (no pun intended ;) ) better.

I had same problem with one of the tags. Not enough of gap to fit it in.

I really did not have problems with the 'tabs'.. before i placed the nose guard on.. I slid all the tabs around the lights where the instructions said to do it.. to see if they fit.. AND for my edicfication as to where they are to go.. For the most part.. they did fit.. THEN putting the NG on I pulled like crazy to streach it.. no probs with tearing.. and placed all the tabs in about 80 to 95% all in.. where they are supposed to go.. I am quite pleased with it for the fit and the look..
I have not, as yet, removed it and cleaned it AND placed it back on.. yet.. I have not gotten the car wet yet..
They say..once the car gets wet with the NG on it.. Remove it clean (car & NG especially the felt) let it dry COMPELETLY.. Then replace it..
Jeremy.. I agree..the clear coat is the best way.. but it does cost about 700 to 1000. IT does protect better, especially since you can put it all over.. BUT how many times are you going to drive from Utah.. to Georgia.. ?? :D ;) :p Good to finally met you this past Sunday.. and GO Falcons.. (Go Georgia Bulldogs..too)
