View Full Version : GTR owners get ready for downtime
Straight from the GTR's owners log book, seem to me Nissan doesn't have much faith in their trans.:eek5::eek5::eek5::eek5::eek5::eek5::eek5: 7 spots

Damn... That's sad. I'm slowly losing interest in the GTR.

until they start breaking transmissions, you cant really do more than assume. havent heard of any issues from the north american gt-r owners club and dont forget the japanese have had the cars for longer as well.

Funny scan, but I'm sure that is only for drivers that don't know what the fawk they're doing.

I know of one that lost the tran after 10-20 launches. Car had 30 miles on it. Here in the ATL.

I thought you were supposed to use the launch control for a certain number of times and then you had to take the car in for service. If he used that launch control 30 times at one track day I'd imagine that would fry the trans especially without a proper break in period. Just my guess. IMO this car isn't a 1/4 car anyways.

I think he did 15 times. Don't know if a service will be helpful since it limits to that many launch. What can the service do?

Yep, heard about that one at Gwinnet Place Nissan. Kinda sucks that they created a launch option but they know that the car will brake after 10 or so launches. Why create the option?
Funny that they have a page to record replacement transmissions. Kinda scary, but funny...

BMW has the same thing in the M6 I believe, but you can only use launch control 2 times or you void the warranty. I'm pretty sure it's the M6, but I could be mixing it up with another car, ha.
